I think they believe that such an audience is rather small. However, I do think it's a stupid move. If they continue supporting Windows exclusively, they might run into problems with the server crowd. Which is a pretty important group.

The article uses "donors" several times. I think while it's amazing if one person is willing to sponsor, it's even more amazing if there are many out there who believe in a brighter future for them. That actually makes me happier, knowing t

I'm using Firefox 17a1 on Linux and with 6 tabs open plus NoScript and Adblock, I'm getting about somewhere in the low 200s for mb of RAM used.

I apologize for any confusion I caused by being vague. Firstly, I meant for Windows Phone 7. Not Windows in general. Secondly, yes, Samsung did indeed try to make a product that appeared similar to Apple's. http://i.imgur.com/TmUj2.jpg Su

What about that part where Samsung was basically like "Oh, Apple's icons look like this using this light effect. We should definitely make our icons look like that too." What part of that is innovative and advancing technology? No, they jus

Exactly this. People that really care about optimizations aren't going to install the default Debian install anyways. They'd do a net install and build from there to get max performance for their old computers. And I love that about Linux.

It is absolutely fair. Apple's patents aren't FRAND and so they can ask for whatever they want to ask for and Samsung has the option to either use it or not. It's not that simple when it comes to FRAND patents because the whole point of FRA

Can you provide a source for that? If this is true, that changes quite a lot. Also, how do you feel about Samsung asking for 2.4% of the chip price for a single patent when there are so, so many patents that go into making a device like the

FRAND patents are going to be more widely used and seen as more "essential". Slide to unlock is not exactly "essential" and more of an option. It's more optional than a FRAND patent would be.

Can you explain how Apple ignored FRAND obligations entirely? Qualcomm already licensed the patents in its chips that they sold to Apple, but then Samsung wanted more because it was Apple. That itself is violating the "non-discriminatory" p

I can't speak about everything because I don't keep up with most of this. But frankly, the situation is shaky. Pakistan is fairly developed considering the region it's in. It's also unstable because of the military from what I can understan

There's nothing "random" about picking on Al-Qaeda. Also, the facts are that NK has nuclear capabilities. So yes, we believe the CIA about that.

Even though it's sharper, that does almost nothing if the text is too small to read comfortably.. Cramming a PDF into a 7 inch screen is not going to work as well as on a 10 inch screen.

Reality distortion field? http://www.loopinsight.com/2012/07/10/apple-responds-to-epea... If the statements made are true, then there really is a problem with epeat. Just cause a company has many products certified, it doesn't mean that c

For an easy anecdote, just walk into any Forever 21. The clothes are extremely thin, with bad stitching, and made from materials that aren't durable at all.

I've actually never heard of that! I'll look into it right now, thanks! I was looking for PDF solutions months ago, but if this works well, it could come in handy in the future.

That's interesting, because the very first economics study material I read specifically used rent control of an example where government interference leads to a less efficient market. I'd love to hear the argument for rent control, though.

I think OP is trying to say that 7 inch tablets are less than optimal for reading PDFs, not that the software isn't there. I think I'd have to agree with OP on that one because for a month, I had to read a 2 column PDF on a 10 inch tablet a

While I think it's gone a bit too far, the situation isn't totally ridiculous. Just to play devil's advocate here: My girlfriend yesterday remarked to me that the SGS2 looks just like an iPhone. She doesn't know anything about the lawsuits

I thought it was that anti-competitive actions were illegal (or just heavily frowned upon?) and monopolies in and of themselves aren't bad, just if they abuse their power in an anti-competitive way.

Wow, that is just pure evil! They're making a total mockery of the copyright system and I'm relishing the idea of someone exposing them for who they are. If they don't resolve this reasonably, would you consider taking them to court? Is it
