There’s one cafe in Austin, Texas that turns off the wifi at 5pm. They have beer on tap. The live music starts around 7. Great way to support the co-working vibe without killing the vibe-vibe.

The claims are incredible: “at 60fps in HD resolution. In real-time. On iPhone. In 2021.” “5ms latency” “512 x 512 pixel resolution per video” I don’t mean to be rude but I’m having trouble convincing myself this is a real story.

Peter Jacobsen (2003) analyzed multiple datasets and found that the risk per cyclist decreased as the total number of cyclists increased. He observed this pattern across intersections, cities, and time periods. https://www.resear

I've never worked with a plumber that has anything they need in their van / truck. They always need to go buy something. This departure generally doubles the cost of whatever plumbing is happening.

The prompts that I use in production are polite. Looking at it from a statistical perspective: If we imagine text from the public internet being used during pretraining we can imagine, with few exceptions, that polite requests achieve their

I don’t know how it works but I would guess that the KYC stuff happens with the resellers (who make the apps). So the resellers have some due diligence of identity verification then they make some guarantees to the telcos. Otherwise, it wou

It's been a very pro-user development. You can buy an eSIM using an app these days. So when you travel, you can just download an eSIM for the country you are visiting if your home provider doesn't offer competitive international p

Yeah! You can have many eSIMs, but the iPhone only has two radios, so only two SIMs can be "active" (connected to towers) at any time. Signal doesn't support multiple phone numbers on the same device. I have two phones: 1. Ol

What is your point of reference? What would you compare it to? I find it easy to understand and to use. From my outside perspective it seems like basically just Linux with a nice web UI.

I have my fibre ont and the wifi router on a cheap battery backup. It has always continued to work even during extended power outages.

I am happy to see Signal charging for premium features. From a product perspective, being able to switch between two iOS devices without a 3rd iOS device shouldn’t be a premium feature. Please consider enabling local backup and restore for

The gist of the report summary is that VPN companies can be really shady. At the same time, these companies enjoy an undeserved implicit trust from the public. Sending all our data through an untrusted intermediary is a bad idea. Installing

I feel like it’s my job to understand new tools and keep abreast of the way things are changing in my industry. It is faster, right now, to just write it myself; at least for most things. I definitely want to understand when and how that mi

This changed my experience significantly: https://github.com/BeehiveInnovations/zen-mcp-server/blob/ma... It basically uses multiple different LLMs from different providers to debate a change or code review.

From my perspective: that's the point of the web toy. It shows who was using these em dashes before they were likely copied and pasted from ChatGPT (or generated from APIs). The em dash is widely identified as a single character that h
