Razer gaming keyboard drivers spin up a webserver for controlling the chroma, which I've always found scary. (Using the much more reasonable community open source drivers that don't do that.)

Strange. I'm just going to read the markdown instead, https://github.com/rust-lang/blog.rust-lang.org/commit/d7214...

Running a betting pool on cloud service outage root causes would be fairly fun. I'm going to guess load balancer cascading failures.

At my current place, that manifests as just linking to a Google Doc in a chat thread and moving the writing over there.

Could you give an example of something with this decentralization quality as you described?

It's an interesting article, but also feels like peak buzzword with use-case 1 essentially being "machine learning in the cloud using blockchain and big data"

If you recognize that racial supremacy goes hand-in-hand with the imperialistic expansionism of Nazi Germany and Japan, I think it's fairly apt descriptor of one of the major causes of the war.

Mark mentioned the work on using formal methods for tracking user data usage and storage in his keynote. This is a project I'm working on, so it's nice to see it out there.

I stand corrected, as what I had mentioned was only necessary given lack of hardware support for scrolling. Good catch.

The smooth scrolling is pretty hard. One of my favorite bits of Masters of Doom about id Software was when they hacked a port of Super Mario Bros 3 to the PC, but as history can tell, Nintendo didn't bite on that one. https:/

It probably happened because someone used Zuck's id, 4, as an id in a test (because people happen to do that all the time), which then ended up mistakenly deleting the old posts.

You can actually use Python as a configuration file pretty well, if you need more complicated logic and macros. Otherwise, sticking to a toml or ini file is my preference.
