I keep trying to press my friends into watching it. It should be taught in schools and shouted from the rooftops. Ditch Netflix this evening and watch Century of the Self instead.

I disagree because we don't entertain theories which make no testable predictions. It seems logical that this rule makes observation the ultimate qualifier.

It is a decent model for ontology, and ontology is good training for observing cause and effect. We grow up to make a lot of erroneous assumptions so we need to train to become good observers. Basically wrestling with the idea lets you obse

It is hard to believe how entrenched locality and realism are in physics. A semester of philosophy should bury them for good. A more modern concern is Boltzmann brains, but those too should offer no barrier to a philosophically aware mind.

It's almost as if they are saying that their 'real physics' isn't science, because in real science observation is first and foremost. I'm really looking forward to what XFEL can do for material science. Perhaps we c

It might be a limit to precision too if infinite accuracy requires infinite space. For low energy an approximation might suffice, and that would go some ways to explain quantum effects.

I really wonder what interests you represent to voice such an opinion. Democracy isn't a panacea to the world's problems. It needs an informed population in order to function, which directly and without discrimination means govern

You're right, slower is the right word. I'm very accurate and precise but feel like I am embarrassingly slow. Recollection in particular feels slower, and I don't know if that is because I have much more knowledge to draw upo

I really hate that I get dumber and dumber with age and that the laws of my country do not let me stop this slow mental dulling. It feels like a group of people physically attacking and overpowering me and I am confused by why I should foll

Not quite... GR is classical, so the diagrams don't represent quantum information. At least they are not intended to.

This gives difficult to grasp answers about what time really is. If I understood this right it implies that the present is a state of coherence, and that the past and future diverges.

This is one of those obvious killer-apps that with a moment's thought was obviously computationally prohibitive or much too complex for a sole developer. If this is in the pipelines then we can soon also expect a bunch of semantic apps

I certainly didn't mean to say that. Are you saying that people who don't believe in advanced alien tech also do not believe in God? Or am I having a mental breakdown? I'm fairly sure I know what a subset is and its logical i
