I think I'd be ok with node via purescript? But in general I think rust and go people should join forces against the evils of dynamic typing. Isn't type hinting finally considered best practice now? I think that is effectively an

Yeah, I work in dsp and embedded typically. If you hit principal or fellow you aren't leaving that much on the table vs anything but a faang, but there is a mid career point where you are making half what you could elsewhere. I don

And that never changed salaries nearly as much in games, embedded, or outside the us. I never worked in any software position adjacent to the online economy, so I never saw any of those wacky salaries.

I read about book called "the big fat lie" years and years ago. There are some indisputable problems specifically with how canola and flaxseed oils went from being an industrial product that was in excess in the post war economy,

To make it more explicit. Censorship is always bad. There is no censorship for the good of the people. If fewer people had gotten vaccines because we didn't censor claims it was dangerous, maybe more people would have died. Maybe hospi

But if I use uv sync and the package I want I don't ever need to toss the whole file right. In rust I'd never sign off on a mr that just randomly updated lots of deps with no reason tied to the issue they were resolving

Is helix too minimalist? No js, just rust and tree sitter queries. Full lsp integration and everything just works.

I'm not against jit or warmup, just saying it doesn't actually catch up for compute bound tasks in my experience. Haskell and ocaml would definitely be next on my list, but they do take a very good hit in performance over ada or r

Ada? Other than c and c++ everything else benchmarks 2-4 times slower than rust for compute bound tasks, even after jit warmup. I'm up for ada though, especially with an llm where I don't have to type all that verbose syntax.
