No, there is an npm package that has the same name. Userland === npm package

Incredibly thorough, are there any plans to implement this into a text editor?

I really liked makefiles and thought wouldn’t it be interesting if new features could be added to them so I made https://github.com/gabrielcsapo/build.sh it isn’t completely done as you can only run the entire pipeline

Isn't the value add the user gets from updating their OS the benefit of security updates and features?

Do these scale horizontally? I know Github has an issue with scaling since it has a concept of private vm when you purchase the enterprise license.

it just feels like putting lipstick on a pig, use binary to solve the problem of bloated utf8 files.

So make the singular processes run in a tighter sandbox where performance is necessary

Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket, it would be great if these platforms had an option to allow non-technically users to install software from them. It would eliminate the need for developers to push to a software platform.

Most languages have the option to compiling to JS, all I am suggesting is that electron be the framework that people target. Having language support is possible by extending that framework.

The issue is that electron is running a new chromium process for each application. This could be fixed easily sharing that process and making chromium more resource friendly.

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't the best move forward just be supporting and tuning https://electron.atom.io to make it more performant and supported on linux? Yes it is a battery killer, but I can see it being better

This is so genius, have you thought of releasing the server side code for bundle size? or giving options for enterprise? :)

I would say if that is the case the best move forward would be to make this something you could put in a consumers house.

You must be talking out of some disillusioned perspective, do you understand the food stamp allowances? Do you understand how living in American outside the realm of hacker news is not 401k plans and stock options. People are actually havin

In America we are not locally self sufficient. California is a large producer of fruit and vegetables for most of the year. We used to be focused on small towns that could be self sufficient now we just accept getting packaged garbage and t

That's a really pessimistic way to think about it. Not having fresh food is a real problem in America. People overbuy produce, poor people can't afford fruit or vegetables these are real issues. You might think it is for marijuana

I like npm-check https://github.com/dylang/npm-check it has a really useful and easy to use UI, on of the nicest terminal UI driven applications I have used. Edited: to use TUI instead of CLI

Oh gosh, this thread is all purests...I hate es6, but it is kind of fun to watch people misuse the arrow syntax and then ask, so what does that do? Their response is almost 1000000% "oh this is how you write functions in JavaScript bro
