I had the same experience building a SPA with jQuery. Updating the view and keeping it in sync was atrocious. I also made the mistake of making a non SPA recently, using jQuery on the front end. It's a nightmare. I did this so a friend

Razer looks like exactly what I was looking for, I guess I could settle for a 14" screen. TBH I forgot about them. I didn't see any Dell, System76, Asus or HP laptops that were all metal and on par with a MacBook, only an Asus net

I was thinking of doing a kickstarter for a single run of aluminum laptops when I need a new machine. It bugs the hell out of me that I can't buy a non-apple metal computer.

I didn't enjoy working part time only because I felt like I fell out of the loop. I'd come to work and a bunch of stuff was already done, etc. So I'd say, try and make sure that you don't get so caught up in new stuff th

If he's calling the people who work on WordPress engineers he could probably plead ignorance.

You can't use JSP to make a SPA, either. I was replying to the statement "Angular is for n00bz"

How do you mean, "templates for non-programmers"? I see Angular's directives as a pure convenience compared to most every templating engine I've used across languages, never considered it something that makes it accessib

Is there an option to avoid it from an end user's perspective? It's made google news so frustrating for me, it will go back a page in history or slide to the next story for no reason whatsoever. I have a Nexus 6P, use Chrome so th

Good point. I don't think many countries have Freedom of Information Act requests and whatnot.

Isn't the argument against copyrights very similar, if not the same, to the argument for the state to own historic artifacts? I'd argue that the state should own historic artifacts so that they can be held in common. That way no o

I second that. I was able to go from the tutorial to building a couple of small apps on my own, painlessly. Super nice IMO

Looks really cool, I wish Unity's UI builder was as intuitive. Is there anything that comes close to this in scope/quality for any other platform?

That's true, but what do you do for a living? I think it'd be significantly harder to find a job as a developer in the middle of nowhere, it's even hard to find an interesting job in the suburbs IME.

So HATEOS is a requirement of REST? I've been calling my JSON apis RESTful all this time like a fool. Guess they're simply JSON apis. I don't really care to parse XML so I guess I won't be getting any REST from my apps.

Funnily enough I was trying to pick up React with my time off but I just couldn't make it do the thing. Next day, off narcotics, it was a breeze lol.

I agree, I can't use 1920x1080 or lower. Plugging my MacBook into a TV is horrible for anything but watching TV from a distance. I think 2560x1440 is probably the ideal resolution for the time being, looks good enough, no need for a gr
