Same, anything with "top down" which is most of the seamless textures you want. Still, amazing functionality!

I have a similar problem. I have 3 projects that I have done that are 3 finished papers ready to be written. But I can't make progress on any of them. Not sure what to do. One paper is starting to look complete, but I just don't w

Working on that project for so many years gave me alot of respect for game developers in general. Also makes me sad to see all the projects never gaining any visibility on Steam. Imagine putting all those hours into something, generally aft

I read a research paper that proved that the branch prediction issues are non-issue with modern predictors (eg. TTAGE). It is of course true that register spills happen, but it's not bad enough to want to write hand-written assembly. E

I meant having an opaque function inside your instruction handler. My assembly looks like crap if something doesn't get inlined. Because I have no way of achieving this I simply cannot use TCO. It runs fibonacci faster, but anything th

Don't take this as anything other than speculation: I wonder if wasm3 is using musttail with opaque function calls in the instruction handlers. It will demolish performance, which is why I am only using computed gotos in mine (when ava

SDL2 really is quite something! I didn't have to make any changes to my program when I tried to build it on FreeBSD yesterday. It just worked, so I was quite impressed! I did manage to break FreeBSD after a while - I think by just inst

We must not inconvenience anyone at any cost! Even if it creates a layer of plastic on earths surface and we get microplastic in our spines. It would have been easier to believe in a better future if people could stomach tiny inconveniences

I definitely recommend people to consider the base ISA of RISC-V if they want to try to implement a CPU or even full-system emulation. I understand that implementing a GameBoy emulator might be more attractive because you are working toward

The 5us was the setup time in order to be able to enter the sandbox. A system call is around 1us, but rarely used. So, in general the overhead of using the sandbox is around 5us, as everything else is pure workload.

Right, that's very true! It's clear that you know what you're talking about when it comes to KVM and maybe even the internal structure in Linux. However, I/O can be avoided. Imagine a guest that needs no I/O, doesn&

It is really only the fact that everyone writes C++ a little bit differently. From the outside this looks like C++ is a mess, but in reality, you can pick and choose what you like, and that's exactly what people do. You can be as safe
