But that's not a short circuit, like the article mentions, is it? The voltage difference means some current will flow, but that's generally harmless.

From the image in this article [1], that’s more like repeaters on steroids. I don’t see mesh routing at all. I also would’ve liked a mandatory dedicated backhaul radio, that would work in a incompatible mode from regular Wi-Fi communication

KeePass: This isn’t an EV certificate (has only OID 2.23.140.1.4). Certum also clearly states, topmost on the description of how to get an EV Code Signing certificate: > We do not issue EV Code Signing certificates to natural persons!

Interesting, I wasn’t aware of that. However, isn’t getting an EV certificate impossible for a natural person? You’d have to be some sort of legally recognized organization. Not exactly suitable for small-scale Open Source development.

IIRC 7-Zip has explicitly decided not go get signed. It doesn’t help all that much anyway, SmartScreen still catches your application and nags the user. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find any reference, so I might remember it wrong or i

What exactly do you mean by “wasn’t assigned”? According to this article [1], 1/8 was reserved in 1981. Only from 2008 to 2010 was 1.1.1.0/24 ever truly unallocated. If, after 8 years, most providers still haven’t moved to either

That’s intentional, from what I remember. All non-DNS traffic is analyzed for research purposes (not by Cloudflare though). A wake-up call for all those (ab)users of public address space is also desperately needed. All IPv4 addresses will s

Inbox is great, no doubt. The recent update to the iOS app is super terrible though. It does away with navigation gestures (swiping up/down) and many animations. It also no longer has an iPad layout.

Yes, it’s incredible how just the preview images of “related articles” are over 13 MiB in size. That’s pretty dumb. As is using GIFs instead of actual videos. It’s 2018, damnit.

This may seem off-putting at times, but I believe it is absolutely necessary. When colleagues come to me with questions (which they do a lot), I always ask about the background. And sometimes, I arrive at different conclusions that solve th

Yes. However, that's a recent development. Mozilla apparently overhauled the entire DevTools stuff. It's not even feature complete at the moment and it's really f*cking terrible.

Viewing this on an iPad, I can see it doesn't have native scrolling. That's not exactly good for UX. One should leverage native functionality instead of working around it to achieve a controlled environment or whatever.

Self-hosting isn’t easy. It adds non-trivial administrative overhead. That time might otherwise be used “productively”. Thankfully, with Docker, hosting complex software has become easier. It’s still not free though. There’s also the thing

Angular is different. It is not concerned with the server side at all. It's just about so-called Single Page Applications. This SPA would typically talk to services via "AJAX" (though probably with JSON). These services could
