It is an alpha-quality library, but I've been playing around with something like this, using ES2015 template strings: https://github.com/af/slashpile I've yet to figure out if the run-time performance hit is

Yes, you can return a Promise in resolve(). I believe it's mentioned in the first half of this talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY48GW87Feo

I agree on the JSX point, but there are a few libraries that make using plain JS less awkward: https://github.com/af/JSnoX https://github.com/mlmorg/react-hyperscript https://github.com

I tried the same patch on 1.9a but couldn't get it to work (tmux built fine but no dice with 24 bit colours). Very curious to hear if it works with 2.0.

I don't see anything about it, so I'm assuming there's still no support for "true" (24 bit) colour? Would really love if they added that, since Neovim now supports it.

This is destructuring (a new feature in ES6, the upcoming version of JavaScript). There's a great in-depth read on how it works here: http://www.2ality.com/2015/01/es6-destructuring.html

It's not quite the same as HAML, but you might try JSnoX: https://github.com/af/JSnoX

Could you confirm that you can atomically update a single item inside a jsonb field without reading/writing all of the jsonb data? I know this is possible with hstore (but not 9.3's json type), but can not find a clear answer for

Github really needs a "deprecated" flag for repositories (maybe it has one already? I don't know of one). This wouldn't solve your specific issue with the weekend projects (assuming the code is still serviceable), but would really help the

He's also posted some good stuff at http://www.mavorsrants.com/ . They have been pretty transparent about the dev process, they just haven't used Kickstarter updates as the primary medium for that.

Great, thanks! I find I use top-to-bottom gradients about 90% of the time, so I'm glad the succinct form is still valid.

I can't tell from the post, but is the <angle> argument for linear gradients still optional? Ie. is the following still valid? linear-gradient(#fff, #eee)

It's pretty simple– if you want to support IE<9, don't upgrade to jQuery 2.x. A lot of people are already dropping support for IE<8.

I haven't worked with Django in a bit so my memory is foggy, but if settings.DEBUG is true, you should be able to do something like: from django.db import connection print len(connection.queries) Put that in a middleware class'

There are some good testing libraries for node (eg. https://github.com/visionmedia/mocha , by the same author as Express), that make async testing fairly painless. However, there are things like DB setup/teardown that aren't integrated and

One of the differences between Django and Rails is that the former makes almost no assumptions about how you are going to write your front end. I don't know much about Rails, but it seems to me that it is much more opinionated in that regar

Agreed, this is a really great plugin. I love how I can see which mode (normal/insert/etc) I'm in by the statusbar color change. The color change is strong enough that I can see it in my peripheral vision, and don't ever have to take my eye

That line stood out to me too, since I have found the opposite to be true. Sounds like it's coming from someone who's never seen the benefits of switching to a DVCS.

Python's string formatting is different though– it doesn't automatically have access to the variables in the current scope. You have to explicitly pass in the variables that you want to include, which seems to me like a cleaner way of doing

Does anyone know what the rationale was for choosing this instead of printf or python3-style interpolation (where you explicitly specify the variables to be interpolated)?
