He's right about positioning the cursor. It currently sucks, really really badly.

Good point. This is a bunch of garish, inconsistent user interfaces. "Fragmentation" means something else.

"I'll read reviews on books I'm interested in on Amazon and go to a local bookstore to buy it. I appreciate the book reviews but I'm impatient and want the book now." Great point, I didn't even think about this while reading the article but

Well, would you rather see companies in this market stop doing this pointless crap, or see Apple suffer? The answer to this question will dictate whether you think this turn of events is a good thing or not.

It's "pretty" and "clever", not actually useful to actual human beings. You know how nerds can be, sometimes.

You can easily flip the question around, though. Who benefits if OS X keeps this key binding? A few people who still use some arcane, 30-year-old text editor. And the rest of us are stuck wondering what the heck just happened when we accide

I love it, slow-playing intelligence is the best. I have a ton of respect for those with world-class intelligence and the ability to refrain from constantly showing it off.

TraceMonkey, JaegerMonkey, and IonMonkey. Well, the names are nothing if not consistent, but impossible to keep straight. I think IonMonkey is the new one?

Probably good advice. I couldn't imagine being happy in a life where I didn't get decent sleep, or where it would be possible to say "I haven’t slept well for years."

An earlier report said Carrier IQ was definitely in iOS 5, and perhaps earlier versions. So, which is it? Either way, ugh. Bad Apple.

I have never really used HAML so I can't comment on it specifically, but I really agree with his point about typing not being the bottleneck. It's much more important to me for code and markup to be readable than to make it easier to write.

Before reading, I guessed that "millions of phones" meant millions of Android phones. Because if this was happening on iPhones, that would merit mention in the headline. Funny how that works.
