Pretty much everyone I have spoken to about the thing has been like “that’s fucking creepy”. A few have hoped you can display something else on it - like cat eyes or something to make it less fucking weird.

It’s legal - I’ve stayed at hotels even in London where you can get a nurse administered IV of some bullshit in your room. I passed on that, and went with the time honoured method of a greasy fry and a pint. The illegal part is if the nurse

Tbf, anything involving bulky gear like a kayak, etc, rapidly becomes impractical without an automobile. I’ve tried load a kayak onto a cargo bike, it went terribly with anything larger than a very small play boat.

Status on IM platform set to busy, notifications suppressed unless from a select group (direct manager, etc). So uh no. Can’t jump on a zoom real quick, I’m doing work.

Your health insurance being tied to your employer is bad enough, now they want to tie housing to it? Will there be the Company Store too? Really sounds like going back to the bad old days

Nah. Prefer the DIY version where I have to put the work in myself. I can appreciate professionally managed green spaces, and do enjoy them, but they have nothing on the space that I myself get to experiment with.

Nope. I lived 5 mins from my office for ages - I specifically moved to the area to avoid a commute, save money on transport, etc. Still preferred to work from home.

What the hell phones have you been buying? The only ones I’ve seen preloaded with social apps are ones where cell carriers have preloaded them with trash.

What’s funny is, it used to be a social norm here (in Ireland) for you to not be allowed get a phone until you were 13 or so (usually: just before you went to secondary school). Of course, people from fucking Greystones would make out that

You can always submit a PR that adds releases support for Debian or RPM packages or whatever format you like. I might consider doing that next week, just realised I have no idea how a RPM is made, and I haven’t thought about making a Debian

Try unblob sometime, it’s a more modern, maintained alternative (not a fork). A company called OneKey that do some firmware security stuff maintain it, and generally it’s pretty good.

Again: most people I know don’t care. Many used to. Hell, I used to. If they use a licence, they just throw WTFPL on it and call it a day like me. What’s the worst risk? Someone in America sues me? Big deal.

For a lot of people, “the source code being available” is what “open source” means. Licences, to many people, are the domain of really fucking boring crusty nerds.

The company I work for instituted unlimited PTO recently. It’s annoying, because under the previous system if I worked a weekend or public holiday, I’d get an extra concrete day to use. Now I don’t. So by law in Ireland I have to take minim

Dry shelters are arguably a massive part of the problem. You fix the housing issue first, make their lives less fucking miserable, then it’s easier to get someone to accept help for their drug addiction. You can’t “cure” an addict who isn’t

Unfortunately was only a matter of time, this happens to every VPN provider who offers port forwarding eventually - widespread abuse by script kiddies and such to host RAT C&C servers.
