This could be used as an ETL process; one task is to fetch the data, another task to clean and do quality control, and then branching tasks to put the data in its final destination. Really any task that can be broken into concrete and indep

I always like to use games as small projects. They usually require the use of a wide variety of programming concepts, and can be scaled up or down as needed. If you know GUI like Swing or AWT, you can use that to do simple games like space

I would like to see more e-waste initiatives based in reuse instead of recycling. To me it seems like any advances on the recycling front are outpaced by throwaway tech culture and general overconsumption. Seeing as processor speeds have p

I was thinking the same thing. Co-working is on the rise, as are small rental office units with shared assets. Maybe they could turn a mall into a Googleplex for small business, with a game area, food court, pub/bar, gym, grocery

I will still sometimes use it to break out of the humdrum of reddit/twitter/facebook. The app had some UX issues, and some of the content could have used better curation, but overall I think the core idea is still relevant.

This struck me as an interesting statement too. Especially with "thin" versions of site surfacing, for example thin.npr.org, it seems like people are more accepting of the trade of loading gifs and high Def images for speed.

My experience trying to set people up with Linux desktops is that even though the metaphors are the same, (like the desktop, start button, update manager, word processor), the unfamiliarity of the branding turns people off. Also, any error

My first response was "he should have used linux", but I came to a similar conclusion as you. People are scared of linux, despite it now being almost as easy as Windows to install/use for typical usage. E-waste is the result
