Preview: Of course, as a PM, your first responsibility is to your users. Of course. Focus on the user and all else will follow. Of course. But. Let’s imagine for just a second that your first responsibility is actually to your business. Let

GP's comments until very recently have all been one-liners. The last few are all of a similar length and generic style. I'm inclined to agree. @dang, as you no doubt see to a far greater extent than regular users do, generative la

If you're interested in learning more about Roman Britain, there's a fantastic episode[0] about it on the Fall of Civilizations Podcast . Highly recommend the podcast in general. If history class had been this interesting I'

Yes, I believe you're referring to Mastodoubt. I have it as well. I've had an account on mastodon.social for ages, but there's nobody there talking about topics I care about.

What's the go to market look like for a product like this? Large enterprises have little incentive to invest in additional calendaring functionality, and the market for individuals who are this passionate about keeping a schedule canno

From a user perspective it's messy and confusing. What does "half as many" even mean? The experience is only different in degree, not in kind. There's less value, both real and perceived, in such a position. It's ha

I think he wanted to say "No Ads" but didn't have enough data to commit to that yet, so he's anchoring on "half as many." Let's see how it shakes out.

Serious-ish question: how do we know the ‘meaning’ we perceive doesn’t also originate from some external agent?

Inspired by Marty Cagan is the best book on product management I've ever read, despite its corny name.

At a previous company, we had strong feedback from sales that prospects thought our legacy, cash-cow product looked old and outdated. They were right, and those first impressions are hard to shake. We lost deals (in part) because of design.

This is great advice, but this article was not written for executives. I skimmed in 5 seconds until I spotted the SCQA bullets, Minto's Pyramid, and the bolded parts of Mistakes to Avoid. If there are other takeaways, I don't real

There is a great book (a tiny novella) called Psalm for the Wild Built [0] that explores these ideas very beautifully. Highly recommend it. 0. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40864002-a-psalm-for-the...

I'm definitely in full dad mode at this point. I've resisted New Balances thus far, but I can see them peeking out over the horizon, a massive iceberg into which I'll inevitably crash.

Came here to make this comment. More than 80% of my wardrobe is from Uniqlo, including 10 dry pique polos, 20 supima cotton tees, and 10 flannel button ups, all black. Makes getting dressed in the morning stress-free because I know I'm

As a person who fits your description above, I can attest that at least for me: it is 100% preparation. For big presentations, I put in practice time equivalent to 10-20x the time of the talk. For a one hour presentation, I'll practice

I worked as a PM on internal developer productivity at Google for a few years. As I've said in previous comments, compared to my former colleagues, I'm an infant in this area, so take this with a heaping of salt. (Opinions my own.

It's easy to respond with general opinions to a general article like this. It's a lot harder to comment on a specific design without an understanding of the business/product goals the design is trying to achieve. However. My
