Admittedly I skimmed the paper but didn’t see any comparison with state of the art. How does this differ from Tezos’ implementation?

I am a bit curious which influencers would like to have this? Twitch streamers protect their location religiously because exposing it can lead to 100s of pizzas being delivered to your house, stalkers traveling across the country to harass

This is good advice! I’ve heard many engineers bemoan setting up SELinux policies however they’ll dump a non-trivial amount of time into security theatre.

I think the PR strategies of these companies is something along the lines of, say the vague things which have no risk of backlash as opposed to explaining what happened which has higher risk of backlash.

Yes and I think you can add Reddit and potentially even some HN posts to this. The world would benefit from an engagement diet.

Again, it is not up to Facebook to serve the needs of the government. It’s why transparency is so critical for the platform, and they are transparent that they value American ideals.. which no surprise include skepticism against government.

It’s doublespeak to say “I saw no calls for violence when I was on platform” and then to say “of course there was calls for violence on the platform, they are on every platform”. Which is it? Facebook optimizes for engagement.. Parler optim

Links for reference? When the CEO spoke with Kara he said that they have groups of five random individuals on platform moderating each decision. That’s a filter bubble style of moderation and poor compared to Facebook/Twitter’s efforts

A highway doesn’t scale in the same way a social media site does. I disagree that this is brainwashing. We just don’t know how to cope with the internet’s scale and the answer is not clear..
