Nope, If you are using libc readdir, gettdents issue is unavoidable.

With my limited knowledge of rust I've looked into it. Seemingly on unix types of OSes exa uses std::old_fs::readdir , it uses sys::unix::readdir and it uses libc::readdir_r Which would also have the suboptimal getdents buffer iss

I have not yet looked into the code but if it's using glibc and corresponding getdents code path with suboptimal buffers, it most probably will be slower then ls. more information about the getdents buffer issue: https://www

I would not joy until exa is tried over a fs with more than a million files. Huge file numbers are a thing now and it is becoming to be an engineering challenge.

Consider Çeşme. It is near Izmir and cheap, especially in the winter it would be a heaven for a nomad. High temperatures than normal winter conditions. Un crowded and peaceful.

I'm not very keen on office365. Our new ceo force migrated us to office365 from gmail and our experience so far is not par with gmail. Very lacking or even unusable ui, not working or frustrating filters, very bad experience with imap

That's very nice. A virtual tagging file system is a really innovative idea.

I wish, system administrators and devops engineers who does not code for a living were this much appreciated.

Gnome and logind is a crucial one. Also it brings it's pam dependency. It is a show stopper for slackware. Kdbus and udev is and will be other parts in this category.

I have an issue with iframe perf test. It is very reckless and a waste of user bandwidth. One can reroll user requests from web server access logs and it would be a controlled perf test with real user behaviour.

Strange, 22 year old technology is resurrected for javascript? cgi is an expensive technology because it execs full application on every request. It would be a bit more sane if it was implemented with fast-cgi. Sometimes, I wish people did

Also systemd is very dependent on many other libraries (optional or mandatory). Adding json as an internal implementation instead of using an outer dependency is not justifiable with "dependency control reasons". From the readme:

I did not run any big c/c++ projects but, I ran, big php/python web projects. Dependencies in these kinds of web projects are messier than desktop/system applications. And it is not unmaintable as you are implying. So reimple

Of course zfs is superior to many fs in many ways. But this is also a systemd way of telling people to "use this, not anything other. That's the best". Systemd people are not helping the community.
