As a fun anecdote I think this same rationale - ”next years hardware is so much better” - is why so many desktop softwares 90’s->00’s became slow - ”meh you don’t have to care about performance, next year’s cpu is going to be so much fas

As other poster said, Gripen is perfect for a defensive role as a missile launch platform. It's not supposed to go 1:1 with F-35:s, but to counter the Russian air capability - and mostly in a defensive role. F-35:s were really great wh

This is not about value signaling. It’s a reaction to the fact that US is willing to shutdown US service offerings and hardware owned by counter parties for political arm twisting. US products are great. But suddenly they look just as risky

No, the number of comments indicate git is often an inappropriate tool. I do agree I’ve often wondered about my career choice after being forced to use git. Any other VCS system I’ve used bar some old unix tools offer much better usability.

A large part of high performance programming using any language is about memory management. For stuff that you run only for yourself and _always_ executes in a blink of an eye I do agree.

Exactly. VCS is part of an industrial process. It's not supposed to be implemented with a thin wrapper to a database whose node structure you need to rummage through. The software analogue would be that in order to use the platform def

All of them. A command line should not be the default option. Again, this is not to bash Git. It's a bash on the industry for selecting tool that requires engineers to spend time and effort on non-value adding part of their work rather

VCS should be trivial push-button activity (and _is_ except with Git). There is no added value making a thing far less usable than could be. This is not git’s fault - it is what it is. But it is incomprehensible industry selected it as it’s

Git is bad. Super bad. It's brilliant for it's original purpose of managing diffs in an open source project. For industrial projects that are not organized like an open source project it's a massive, massive footgun and it sa

Does not still fix the root cause that Git is super-bad as an industrial tool - actions that should be trivial push-button activities become incomprehensible command line character soup. The fact there is a book on the subject speaks volu
