I interviewed for a software job there twice. It seemed pretty dysfunctional to me. For one project, they had 20 people working on something that I thought would take 3-5 people.

Yeah, because I look at my own comments page, and wouldn't have noticed you posted a reply unless I came back to the OP. Regarding OP - Did you give notice at your last job? If so, and this falls through, you learned a valuable lesson

I've had job offers revoked, both with verbal AND written offers. With an "at-will employment" clause, nothing prevents a revoked offer. It sucks if you already gave notice at your current/last job.

If hackathons are stupid and unfair, then stop going to them. Pick a project that takes longer than a weekend and do it.

These actually are standard problem types once you get used to them. They sell books with logic puzzles like this. One example is "Sherlock" by Everett Kaser. http://www.kaser.com/ It's like giving someone a

Another red flag is that the client is threatening to sue you for $100k but you only billed him $6k. Your maximum loss should be the $6k he paid you. But you do need to consult with a lawyer. You say you have another job? So you should b

For Android, I've been using DroidEdit and DroidScript (and DroidScript lets you compile Javascript to an apk, without the hassle of setting up Cordova). I also have Bit Web Server for php. I haven't found a good option for Javasc

If they were serious about fixing startup stock options, they would: - Eliminate the tax penalty you get if you exercise and keep the shares. This matters when the startup has not had an IPO or other liquidity event yet. - Eliminate the IR

Domain names aren't as important as they used to be. As long as you rank #1 in Google for "name of your business", that's good enough. Someone who googles easydns will find the official easydns website. easydns.sucks w

Banks have one advantage in this area. The have government regulations and many other laws making it hard to organize competition, such as anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer laws. Look at what happened to E-Gold. It was a threat

I've worked at a couple of startups that failed for that reason. The CTO picked something he wanted to pad his resume with, rather than a good technical choice.
