Are talking about this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Pill_(software) It happened in 2006 and never happened after that. I would consider it as secure as it gets.

What is wrong about virtualization? It allows to run all existing software, it doesn't restrict the owner of the device, it is extremely flexible and reliable. And it can be fast, too.

Here is the tablet that can do this: https://puri.sm/products/librem-11 . It can even run Qubes OS.

It looks like you you may be interested in Qubes OS, security oriented operating system relying on strong, hardware-assisted virtualization: https://qubes-os.org . My daily driver, can't recommend it enough.

It's probably impossible to achieve security through correctness, but security through compartmentalization can work. See: https://qubes-os.org .

IP can be correlated with other data to infer the identity. Google ads are everywhere, so Google probably knows, who you are and your IP.

A lot of knowledgeable people hate systemd, and I start suspecting that they have good reasons for that. However, it's extremely hard to get a good list of related substantiated facts about systemd in order to convince a larger communi

Nevertheless, when Apple decides to kill "your" hardware, you will have no recourse. You are forbidden to manage and update it yourself.

Not supporting old hardware is fine. Forbidding users from updating their hardware themselves is killing it though.

Web apps are indeed better, unless you need an access to hardware, fast computation or similar. But Apple is against web apps, so you're right to abandon them.
