Agreed, JavaFX's font rendering on MacOS was like this for years : https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/1413266/82507544-6... (Note not only the inconsistency between letters - all the specific colour values

This year I've done 4-5 online chats with Amazon's Customer Service trying to resolve a single issue (still unresolved). I've definitely wondered what happened to the old "Customer Obsession" and "World'

Some developers (younger ones?) seem to think that the SemVer spec is a law of the universe, when in reality it's just something a GitHub guy put into the mix in the 2010s.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but I vaguely recall reading something about Amazon workers being fired in a fully automated fashion. So there is not necessarily always a human manager reviewing all the automated warnings and pondering their v

As a tablet, you'd pick a mediocre tablet experience with a regular desktop experience over a good tablet experience? As a tablet?

SML definitely has a more tastefully designed syntax also, and not only because it's a smaller grammar. OCaml syntax is the "scuffed" version of SML syntax, as the kids say! Unfortunately to be a real-world SML user these day

I thought the @tailcall annotation in OCaml was cool. It's not essential to use it to receive the optimisation, but rather it's a way to tell the compiler "I need this call to be optimised, so let me know if you can't

This obviously has some level of Deno officialness. But from looking at the TODO-ridden state of the docs, it doesn't seem like it's ready for its '#1 on HN' public launch moment.

TypeScript doesn't have a language specification so there's nothing to merge. If you tell browser vendor X that they need to start supporting TypeScript, what does that mean?

Dart had quite a long history before Flutter even came into the picture. Flutter is the answer to the question of why is Dart somewhat relevant today, but not to the question of why Dart didn't take off in general during its first 5 or
