Does anyone have a link to a web page (or to a book) that would be useful if you want to learn to program a Deep Belief Network?

Reminds me of Eliezer Yudkowsky's comment that "I've seen people severely messed up by their own knowledge of biases. They have more ammunition with which to argue against anything they don't like."

The best book on cognitive biases that I have read is Irrationality by Stuart Sutherland.

In related news, you always hear about drug-related violence but never about all the drug-related kisses and hugs.

I've never tried a barbell, partly because people seem to have someone helping out when they use it. Would you recommend using one alone, or should I stick to dumbbells to avoid possible injuries?

In 2000-2002 I was a member of LunarStorm, a (now defunct) Swedish community where at one time 90 percent of Sweden's high school students were members. What I liked about it was that it gave you much more opportunities to interact with - a

If the pen input is comparable to that of a Wacom tablet, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Its closest competition sells for $2,200 in Sweden.

A bridge doesn't have to be anywhere near water. I would have answered "Shaded Areas" - why wouldn't a bridge or an overpass that's lit by the sun keep warm longer than an area that's in the shade?

I bet most people NOT on Facebook have one person in their social circle that they would not hire base on what they've seen them do in real life - people they might have considered hiring if they'd interacted on Facebook instead.

Even pirates usually think that the original creators deserve credit, and many frown on taking other people's creations and earning money from them. As an example, some people have called Inman a hypocrite for downloading Game of Thrones (b

I doubt that this is a "pirate levy" at all. The fee on storage media is usually supposed to cover media shared with family and close friends, which is legal in many countries and does not count as piracy.

$20/£12.20 was for the 3D version (where you can borrow glasses - do you have to buy yours?). I checked, and in smaller towns the price seems to be $17.50. The 2D version (which isn't available everywhere) is only $16/£10. That's actually n

I'm looking to buy a Windows tablet with a Wacom pen (for drawing), but at the moment they sell for $2100 in Sweden. I'm hoping there'll be more competition when Windows 8 is released.
