I'm kind of frustrated at this, heh. I'm on chrome 49 because I can't install anything newer on my linux mint machine. I can't install a newer one because of a dependency, which requires a newer kernel version. So I'

I'll say one thing about FB advertising. It really is starting to get creepy. I recently entered several new markets and FB was the first to start advertising. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I clicked a few links. A few o

I don't think I get it. What is the difference between 'at' and 'up' in this context?

You could go to the census fact finder, grab some data (scoped at census block level) and a few census block shapefiles for your state, and get to work. Repeat for counties, cities, etc. Census data is seriously cool, and easy to work with.

Hi there. I'm completely unfamiliar with CNN. Do they relate to Cellular Autonoma in any way other than sharing part of a name? And of course the fact that they communicate only with neighbors. Are there patterns of emergent behavior i

Is yours the original Pi or Pi 2? The Pi 2 is like 6x more powerful than the Pi, and the Pi 3 is about that much more powerful than the Pi 2. I have the pi B and I can do SNES pretty decently with a little overclocking. I understand the Pi

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your article. I wish you the best and keep up the good work. I especially appreciated the viewpoint of a non-american (as a non-silicon valleyian, which arguably has similar learning curves).

A quite note on pickled vs fermenting: pickling usually refers to a vinegar solution that preserves but isn't fermented (so it isn't a live culture). Fermenting is usually just water and salt, promoting the lactobacilus in the air

I sincerely hope there will be more research into this in the coming years. The problem I think is that we need to do more personalized research and experiments, but somehow figure out the baseline to compare individual results against. Som

Another piece of anecdotal evidence. My wife has had allergy attacks constantly for years and years. Every morning she would wake up and have to blow her nose for a half hour. We started making fermented food (saurkraut, pickles, fermented

Yeah, that's fascinating. I didn't realize there was a name, or even that the colors and days of the week is a thing that other people experience. How weird is it that my Wednesday is blue too? Thanks for sharing, I've got so

Hi Starwatcher. I had never even considered that this has a name, much less that it's common enough for other people to associate with it too. Cool. I love to read, actually. As far as I know I haven't noticed any difficulty in co

Ever since I was a kid, there are some things that, when I mentally picture them, have associated colors bound to them. Days of the week are pretty clear for me. Monday is red, Tuesday and Thursday are green. Wednesday is a light blue, Frid

It's very cool. I also notice that there is an area of chaos at the edge of the world, where the lines are perpendicular to the map edge. This can cause new areas to emerge and take over. For example, my current Universe has 3 distinct

This is a pretty fascinating pattern to watch once it settles. Does it have a name yet? Some observations: * The basis of stability seems to be horizontal and vertical alternating black/white lines. * There are two obvious areas of act
