Look at the OP news article, they took a picture - so they have already a transparent material (type of glass or plastic). There you go. My comment was about a low tech bigger scale endoscope instead of error prone high-tech robotics. And g

Well there is GitHub, the original. If you need a self hosted alternative with many features, then GitLab. If you need a fast self hosted alternative, then gogs.io (written in Golang).

Consider giving Ubuntu MATE even more love. It's the Ubuntu as it should be with a proper shell, not this Gnome3 UI-mess but with great Gnome2 alike UI. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_MATE

* Fiber cables (that OP and I wrote) means a cable made out of glass - no problem at all for radiation. (face palm #1) * You can transfer light through such cables. This means you use one cable to send light into the scene and another cable

We can thank AMD a lot. Without real competition (AMD Ryzen many cores) we had to suffer stagnation in CPUs for several years while Intel had ready design lined up for future.

Well written, fully agree with your points. An bigger size endoscope with fiber cable would be best solution - low tech is better in such use case. And dumping contaminated water is really bad, unfortunately news gets censored everywhere in

How about taking photos on scene, and post some pics later (taxi, hotel, etc). When your family is several time zones away it time doesn't matter that much anyway.

We had that already. Opera was the first browser with tabs, it had MDI support and tabs. MDI stands for Multiple Document Interface, and was common with Win 3x and Win9x (WinAPI) applications: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki

Either Mozilla is infested by an me-too syndrome or they employ managers who do their current employer (Mozilla) a disservice (and their former employer a service). A big problem anyway.

So true. The Mozilla corp lost touch with their users. All early Netscape employees left, now it's official a non-profit but acts like big corp. Firefox become unusable - shut down Firebug replaced by half-assed new DevTools, removed X

That's your opinion. PHP, JS (nowadays to some extend also Go and Swift) are so successful, BECAUSE they have a simple and C-like syntax. Rust syntax is rather an afterthought, unfortunately.

Elixir brought a sane syntax to Erlang. A Swift or Go inspired simple syntax could revive Rust.

The Social Network (2010) movie was superb. Yes Fincher as director and Sorkin as screenplay writer would be phenomenal. It would take a good book about Uber internals though. Unfortunately the former head of Sony Pictures in L.A. screwed t

Like what Elixir is to Erlang, I wish there would be a NEW-LANG to Rust that has a nice syntax like Go or Swift but with the advantages of Rust, based on Rust's foundation (but with an simpler, nicer syntax).

I like the direction the lang Rust is heading, but I too find the rust lang syntax is ugly and over-engineered compared to C, C++11 and Go. Let's hope some ugly bits get deprecated.
