If one could write a fit function that returns a value correlated to the meaning of such random image, some genetic algorithm could be used. Also, this would be a perfect project to finally nuke copyright on images. Could also work with ran

Eval breaks both JIT[1] and garbage collection [2] (unless used very carefully). It also affects Google Closure Compiler [3]. What is even better - it won't ever be fixed, at least not in the terms of performance. [1] http://echo.nextapp.c

Some of the tests they link prove the opposite of what they say in the slides. Also, saying that eval is not evil is evil.

I'm just saying that it's a very silly protection. It's not like piranhas, more like having a moat full of herrings. For me it's this kind of protection that says "hey! there is something interesting here" but is not really preventing anyon

I'm very suprised that they keep some secret, custom gear in a semi-public shared data center. What exactly prevents no-googlers from wearing their own headlight or using a flash in camera?

I think that you should consider if your opinion is the opinion of statistically significant number of users. From what I know, wordpress.com has millions of users and only small percent take part in such discussions. Can it be because most

I was thinking about CFA mosaic and JPG compression, I think these may introduce some axis aligned artifacts. But maybe they took it into account (using raw format?) or effect is not relevant in this case.

Have you considered that this pattern may be a result of camera internal structure rather than structure of objects?

It's inspired by Blockout. There is a lot to improve, but there is a little potential in such game. I was rather considering turning it into a tutorial, it's around 500 lines of code and may be a good, simple introduction to WebGL games. Wo

Great story and the game is looking good. Do you plan to release your algorithm (as a code or paper)? I wonder how much does it take to check if a level is beatable.

You should consider adding badges. For example: wasted 4+ hours on 9gag/facebook in one day.

You should've written it in Dart or CoffeScript. That would be even more trendy and pointless. Please, don't repeat good projects without making any improvements. And do NEVER use jQuery only to say that you use it.

Now we are getting somewhere ;) Graphics are not an issue, physics may be. Still, you would be surprised how fast compiled JS can be. It requires some discipline but if your code is good, performance is not that bad. And some data structure

I'm using Google Closure to get rid of the bad parts, but still it's not very good. I did some testing with game AI, graphics and so on - JS is far from perfect for such things. Maybe it's a lack of tools, maybe of some features I was used

Yes you can. Have you seen Team Fortress 2 in WebGL? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQrC5YLKFUY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmvj6-CFbbA JS is not very pleasant to code with, so writing an actual game logic could be a bit painful, but

It's JIT compiled and WebGL shaders are compiled as well. It is a native code executable on CPU, read how Crankshaft in V8 works. It's true that JS is at the moment N times slower than C++ (N in range 1 to 10). It's not true that you need

WebDirectX was rather humorous thing, but the point is that if IE would support any API, we could write some wrapper and actually let things work. Now it's as you said, only hacking. There is not much money (equals manhours) involved when t

This is 2D and done in coffescript which sounds like cheating ;) 3D math is not that simple and it has to be done really well. I look forward to see a good 3D physics so if anybody has found/done it, please share.

And there is no operator overloading, so you have to go with prefix notation. It's not that bad unless you want to write something like GJK collision detection. I actually do, so you see why it annoys me so much.
