If someone could eliminate their $50-$100 internet access bill it could be a huge motivator.

In Eastern Europe you often would get an entree (soup or salad), main dish and dessert.

Such abuse of technology was the main target of the "EU cookie law", not the use of session cookies that all sites are warning about now.

Of course there are limits (e.g. mass of human population will never exceed Earth's mass etc). But what these limits are? For example we can double the size of human economy by colonizing Mars. This sounds very achievable to me.

I don't quite get why video feed is such a problem. Can't it be recorded and then transmitted a few minutes later?

Even that wouldn't be enough. And for some environments (e.g. living room) you would need super bright indicator accompanied by sound.

If you enable camera for a fraction of second nobody would notice the change of indicator.

We may discuss about proper authentication mechanisms here, but I guess the real lesson learned is "don't gather data if you really don't need to".

I can imagine a lot of applications for these types of systems: identifying undercover traffic police cars, finding whether someone is following you, identifying friend's cars (similar to FB's "Share your location") Peo

When these types of tracking become common, government tracking will look like a child's play.

It should be easy to artificially lower bot's advantage to 1-5%. It still would be profitable, but wouldn't stand out among other players.

Or maybe they just asked "tell us something about your negative experiences working with @annoystate". I just wouldn't bother - expect 9 out of 10 interview to fail anyway.

"the entire database proved crackable in a mere three days." Is the article claiming that ALL passwords are known now?

Wouldn't it be possible to create micro grids? E.g. tenants of one house or small town. They could sell electricity to each other then.

Grid actually is good (easier to balance etc). "Utility grid" is what causes most inconveniences.

Totally agree with you. Also some of the freight traffic will be shifted to nights; self-driving cars will allow door-to-door service, so number of parking spaces will be reduced; also when no driver is needed you get that extra seat.

What happens with regular gasoline pumps there? 30% is a big number so I would expect some impact (closures, limiting working hours etc).

I would be more interested in statistics about Norway as 30% of new cars are electric there.

If your closest gas pump is 20 miles away fuel cost wouldn't matter anyway. I also expect that a lot of pumps will be closed in cities because of pollution, smells and other factors.
