Competition drives innovation. See Clang and GCC. GCC, if what I've read briefly is correct, was languishing a bit until Clang came along and pushes GCC to improve.

I've been following this for last 6 months, and I haven't been able to come to any definitive conclusion. Most of the people I worked with found something, however some had to wait 3-4-5 months -- these are people I would've

the biggest thing is native html is a pain to make non-trivial websites with. JSX, via react, provides a nice modular abstraction layer that easier to write and manage vs a blob of html and raw js files. Of course if web components, I haven

I can't comment on Herb Sutter. But Jonathan Blow, from what I've seen and heard, is deeply passionate about the domain Jai is targeting and appears to have Jai already in pre-production use in his next in-development game/en

You're right about aliases. But an executable in your $PATH does work.

One of the nice things about Xournalpp is that is just plain XML (the save file). So its really just plaintext, I don't have to bother with reading hundreds of pages of PDF spec to try and write a reader in the future. If I needed to,

Fair enough. I was providing alternatives, not prescribing a single solution. You'll notice I said what I use and also provided suggestions that I don't use. Xournalpp uses layers as well, hiding annotations is also possible there

I've been using Xournalpp[1] for many years, highlighting books as I read them, adding in text/hand drawn annotations in whitespaces if necessary. Unlike other PDF readers/annotators, it saves a separate file, so the original

I have to agree. If you're interested in supporting Intel(x86/64), it's open source, and you sound like you have the hardware to add support for and test on Intel.

You're confusing 2fps with 1-screenshot-every-2-seconds (or 0.5fps), what the README actually says). I wouldn't be surprised if the battery issue is problematic, likely will result in at least some kind of battery life reduction,

I mentioned this in another comment, but checkout git's builtin support for aliases, defined in ~/.gitconfig [1] And git lets you define custom subcommand if you just create a file like `git-foo` in your $PATH, and then you can ru

For git aliases you should definitely checkout alises[1] you can define in your global git config, ~/.gitconfig, and the fact git will let you define custom subcommand if you create a `git-foo` executable in your PATH, for example, cre

If you make it a file and put it in your $PATH, you can also invoke it from within vim for example. I find myself using `!chmod +x` often from inside vim, so this will be quite nice, `!+x` Edit: Sadly it doesn't work, trying to run `!+

I'm not well versed in C++ best practices, but unless it's a non-option for your situation, have you considered single file headers or perhaps even a unity build[1] approach? Of course, both are just workarounds for proper module
