Well, mystery solved. Now, the new mystery: What does this mean for Apple's car project? Yes, I realize he probably didn't have much (or anything) to do with it (whatever it really even is). There are going to be some batshit craz

Google requires phone or text verification on new accounts. I'm not sure about Facebook, but they do require an email address, and that has to come from somewhere. Eventually, you will require verification via phone or text, and that&#

This is shockingly similar to the gaming PC I helped my kid build last year. We didn't build it with a mackintosh in mind, but it's nice to know we could do it if we wanted.

D.C. is definitely a very expensive area. But luxury cars aren't dramatically more expensive here. It is a poor example to cite when discussing the cost of living. On the other hand, It's possible they could be normal cars and ver

We live in Silver Spring, and between our two kids, we pay ~$2,000/month for private middle school and preschool. Our older one has one more year at his middle school (started there when we lived in an area with pretty crappy public sc

I wish it could just be downvoted. Browser support has improved considerably since this was written.

The grid spec has changed a lot since this article was written three years ago. His example is likely incorrect now.

I drove past Cumberland on a weekend trip from DC to Ohio last year. This will sound like an underhanded compliment, but it is genuine: it looked very pretty from the highway! The mountains were beautiful and it seemed like every building i

position:sticky first appeared in Chrome Canary in 2012, somewhere around Chrome 30, but then they pulled it because of the issues. A coworker was looking for a JavaScript sticky solution for an internal tool, and since that team could dict

The Washington Post is definitely rivaling them. They're doing very well now and they've got some really big digital initiatives going on inside.

I've made a point of keeping it clean ever since it started, but it doesn't seem to help much. One time I noticed the connector was wobbly, and I found a very, very small piece of metal in there. I had hoped was the source of all

I have no idea with the idea of MagSafe, but on my Retina MacBook Pro (also early 2013), it's become extremely finicky. About 20% of the time, it just doesn't charge. I just have to connect and disconnect it a few times and eventu

I was Bart's age when the show started. I'll be Homer's age in two years. I had seen some of the shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show and the Butterfinger ads. I knew enough to make sure to watch "Simpsons Roasting on an Ope

With flexbox and a fallback, you're future-proofing. If you go with floats or something worse, you're working around yesterday's constraints.

Why not both? Global flexbox support is >96% and in the US it's >97%. Unless you're aiming for a 1:1 pixel-perfect experience in crappy old versions of IE, it's negligibly simple to detect IE (or lack of flexbox support
