This is missing the one thing that all other "let me explain monads to you" articles is missing: a real example of what problems monads solve. As far as I know, a monad is some kind of mathematical construct that is very useful when solving

I've found that theres a certain "turning off your brain" that has to occur to be socially successful. Most technically inclined people have a habit of using their brains a lot. Not that it's totally impossible, but it's hard. I'm a sociall

I'm a 10x developer most of the time. It's all about motivation. When I'm producing 10 times as much as my peers, I'm working on something I want to work on. I can go all day without visiting facebook, reddit or hacker news, because I sim

Culture just happens. If you go out of your way to foster some kind of fake "culture" you're only doing your business a disservice. The company I worked for with the best culture did nothing to try to create a "culture".

Isn't that a nieve way of thinking? I don't think there is any hard evidence that virus companies fund virus creation, but it would make a lot of sense if they did. Anti-virus companies have a lot to gain by a vibrant virus ecosystem.

I am a rather somewhat prolific open source developer. I sometimes feel that this fact keeps me from getting jobs. People talk about in this industry that you can send off 10 resumes and get 10 job offers very easily. For me, I send off 10

From reading the Wiki page on B+Trees, it seems they are just a way to store data so that is is always sorted. If I ever needed to store data in such a way that it is always stored, I'd use a database+index. I don't know B+Trees because I'v

Yes, but you need money to hire those people. Where will you get the money? You won't get any investor money until you get a team, you won't get a team until you get money. Those other people are going to have to be co-founders.
