Absolutely agree. I have those keys remapped to an additional left and right arrow on my T480 because I was constantly pressing them while navigating on the command line and it would erase my entire command.

Widevine has been privately cracked/bypassed. The method hasn't been made public as it would obviously get patched rather quickly (if it even can be patched). That's why Netflix content is available almost immediately on any

Another vote for TimeWarrior. As a huge bonus, if you started using or currently use TaskWarrior (console based task management), it integrates seamlessly and will track time spent on a task for you. It's an awesome, open source, extre

Out of curiosity, what distro do you use and what is your distro of choice for the old ladies?

Valid question. Although how could any product protect against that kind of attack? If the supply chain is compromised, it's pretty much a wrap.

Bitwarden is better, but Vaultwarden (the self-hosted version written in Rust) is the absolute best option. Host it yourself on a free tier VM in one of the clouds, configure a backup solution, and never worry about it again. And you don&#x

I would stay away from the 4cyl Tacoma. Only because the V6 in the current gen is under powered as it is. This is coming from a Toyota fanboy (owned 2 Tacomas and now drive a Tundra).

A RAV4, like most crossovers, is a car with slightly more headroom. Not really a fair comparison. Compare it to a 2022 4Runner and you'll see that gas mileage is very similar. Toyota is known for their top tier reliability and mid to l

They changed course on that and you were able to opt-out of the upgrade and continue using the free version. You had to do something by a certain date which has since passed so it's not much help now.

Your stock example is not what was described though. You're not selling Bitcoin and then buying USDT. You're buying USDT with Bitcoin. With your stock example, you can't buy shares of Apple stock using your Google stock. It h

My initial reaction was "oh no. Signal finally broke down and has begun adding the annoying social features." After thinking about it, I actually don't mind it. I am in a big (~15 people) group chat with my family. Often time

I think you just figured out the single fastest way to kill the platform completely.

I love this idea but the mainstream will hate it. Short attention spans need memes and reaction gifs.

But you need a tech stack to make sure those features are performant and highly available.

by freeplay 4y ago
Interesting concept but it falls apart pretty quickly once you start adding in the "social" parts of the network. Also, you're still going to need to index all posts somewhere. Unless you don't want search functionality

> Building something like Twitter is still, in 2022, a really hard technical challenge. Building something like Twitter is pretty simple. Building something that scales to 400 million MAU is a really hard technical challenge.

I think they burried the lede here. Conversations with Siri are probably pretty generic but being able to evesdrop on keyboard dictation is pretty severe. I know people that use dictation for the majority of their text messages and email.
