I didn't say my hires would be public sector. They just have to produce something that is freely available to the public sector and meets a specific public sector need.

I don't know you. I don't know anything about you. I don't mean any disrespect to you, but... I'll match you against somebody willing to take $150k for the exact same work. I'll match 4 of you against 8 of my hires.

You don't want to spend $300 to repair a $2000 laptop? I'm still irritated that I have to spend more than $300 to buy a new laptop. It's a constant struggle to balance old man syndrome with reasonable sticker outrage.

I meant to show a simple example of how a vendor offers the same product for the same price on their own website and on Amazon. I was going to argue that they should mark it up on Amazon to encourage traffic through their own site. So I jus

Let's say that Acme is a low-down, dirty-rotten, rip-off con who has been usurping somebody else's trademark to make a quick buck with counterfeit merchandise. Why would Amazon merge the reviews of that product with the reviews of

Why don't we just assume that everyone with such an abrasive personality is very high functioning spectrum. Should we cut everybody slack, now? Is there a line where we let some have a pass and others not?

Thanks for the correction. TIL Are you distinguishing Chinese or Japanese on visual appearance? Or by some other method? I think 小中大 have an advantage over SML because SML have no meaning by themselves. 小中大 have the exact meaning we need. G

I worked on a project in the early 90s to figure out a way to distribute updated docs along with software updates. At the time, the software updates were shipped on CD, etc. We could ship the docs in WordPerfect AND Word formats. But that w

Ummm. I thought I might have to put a disclaimer in there. But I figured it was over the top enough to be clear. I was wrong. There is no app. No cactus farm. No Forest Service. No Amazon. Edit: Ok, fine! The U.S. Forest Service does exist.
