This is one of the biggest complaints from my students. We have so many beginner books that show you the basics, for loops, if statements, variables etc..etc.. but don't show you how to create a widget. We need more intermediate books

I agree, this book will not teach a beginner anything about javascript. The author decided to show everyone his math skills instead of teach javascript.

I agree with sairamkunala. Learn your editor. If you use vim or sublime, start looking for plugins that make you more productive.
