You're right in illustrating how things are winding down - I just wanted to point out it wasn't a complete shutdown of all things Flash. Ads were never as big a component of the flash game industry they are in mobile apps: sponsor

Good clarification. Perhaps the compiler API is the better choice here? I'm not fully aware of the differences / divisions between the two. https://github.com/Microsoft/TypeScript/wiki/Using-the-Comp

Just to clarify, when you say "shutdowns of all their flash services" this means they shut down their distribution system that was for distributing your game to portals automatically as well as one other service. They didn't

If you're interested in using ES6 features, TypeScript provides a great way to get most of these features (and of course optional typing as well). Babel might be slightly more feature-complete when it comes to ES6 features, but TypeScr

There are reasonable cases to be made for both keeping weed illegal and banning abortions. Labeling people as lunatics because you disagree with them is a very dangerous road to go down.

For those who have never read it, the Wikipedia article reads almost like an action novel. Highly recommended (fun) reading.

The comments don't render correctly on FF on Android. They all render one after another and it's impossible to tell which comments are replies and which aren't. :(

Agreed 100%. I feel like I could get as much done with a 25hr/wk workweek instead of 40hr/wk. I try to stay focused and work hard for those 40+ hrs each week, but things eventually trail off anyways.

The area of the midwest referenced in this article is a fascinating area. It's essentially undiscussed and unthought about in mainstream American thought. But it's so interesting to drive around out there, so much land, few people

How do you design a system that's hardened against social engineering but not hardened against innocent mistakes, like losing your password? It seems like the easiest way to access public systems like this is through social engineering

Who can tell? Although I bet both groups have some amount of culpability in this one. We'll probably never know for sure what really happened, except possibly if there's video available.

What exactly is the goal of the group? What does it mean that they "police the other teams"? This is just out of pure curiosity, I find the idea of having a mod team for a large, public project interesting but a bit strange.

A few more thoughts on the matter of whales: On Kongregate, 2.1% of users buy virtual goods. Of these, about 4% (the whales) have spent over $500 and bring in about half of Kongregate's revenue. Top spenders often spend $50K-$80K. Emil
