That's the thing, we had a very early introduction to java. This course is 50% learning the quirks of java. Even Rails would be better in my opinion...

Depends on the scale, for smaller projects Heroku (free tier is actually pretty solid for simple Flask/node apps), for larger, probably Google. But I'm bias, I tend to stay away from the AWS ecosystem.

Yes, especially for those jobs that already require 60-80 hour weeks (doctor, IB etc). We get paid well for our hours.

Absolutely. I was just pointing out that in the current state of a lot of developed countries, coal is still cheaper than solar because of the infrastructure. But we're bloody close!

Also the power grid cannot accommodate in it's current form. Older substations struggle to do with the load fluctuations that are caused by solar panels, which is why they are discouraging them in Hawaii. A huge investment would be req

I love the human condition. Managers struggle to motivate for simple coding tasks, but ads? We'll be damned if they intrude our lives.

As backwards as this comment sounds, it's the truth. You need to be attracted to someone first, and then you maybe share a sense of humour or shared interests (if that). End of the day, you just need someone you can easily spend time

This is the conclusion that I came to (without knowing there was a word for homomorphic encryption, thanks!). I really think this is the (ideal) future of monetizing the internet.

I actually tried to do a proof of concept for exactly this but gave up after assuming you could never truly trust the client to not mess with/read the data.

Audio is included. The line disappears because they are actually two videos, and I was showing how flawlessly they blend. Each half is either compressed or the original.

Compressify's developer here. Would love any feedback on the site and video results. Sorry if the server is slow, it's getting the product hunt hug of death.

I swear every iPhone 4 has their home button and mic broken eventually. I think the battery life dives dramatically after some point which I haven't reached. Will probably upgrade after that happens.

It's an iPhone 4 with a broken mic which I got for free. It's too old to run a lot of distracting apps (VSCO, Snapchat etc) and I can't call people. I have a $20/month (AUD) prepaid plan for 1GB data which gets me throug

Our highschool software teacher forced us to write at least one program in a language that used line numbers to give us perspective. Great teacher.

Amazing. I can't even imagine what a ride the whole journey must have been. React must seem like a god-send.

Would be counter-intuitive for fb to ever do this. They thrive on posts being commented on - it promotes discussion (for the better or worse), therefore interest in the post.

I believe this is the most likely scenario: lethal apathy. I mean, how could a turing machine have emotions without chemicals?
