Alternatively, maybe soon – with the small iPad filling the $249 price gap – Apple will finally kill the iPod Classic and cut prices on the rest of the line. They've been manufacturing the lower quality retina display for the iPod Touch for

I understand where you're coming from, but I feel as though you might be evaluating the ad's concept and not its execution. The Apple Store is clearly an awesome value add (I even hesitate to reduce it to merely that), but I don't think the

That's fair. Though I do have an explanation. I was, many years ago, an Apple retail employee. After that, I worked as an Apple Certified Technical Consultant. Referring to Apple as "we" is a old habit that manifested itself in a moment of

I have a hard time agreeing. I want to like them, but everything about them – with the exception of one or two gags – is "good enough," not excellent, as Apple's been for so long.

We've all known it for a while, but this redesign (which I think is quite nice compared to Microsoft's previous efforts) throws their logo into stark relief. It looks outdated. It doesn't match. I'm speculating that we'll see an across-the-

+1. Archiving is a huge part of my workflow, which is similar to that of the folks above me. Pretty sure all versions of iOS >= 4 (and new-ish versions of OS X) support Archive when you tap the Delete icon, so it's not something I even

Whether or not Apple's corporate culture is "controlling" (though I don't really understand why you're conflating 'confrontational' with 'controlling' in the first place) does not directly impact whether policies towards consumers are restr

Side question: does anyone know why Apple uses edgesuite.net for these things? Is that an internal name, a third-party corp. managing their video distribution, or something else?

For me, it's really Spaces whose usefulness was diminished in 10.7. They used to be configurable in multiple dimensions (i.e., X & Y): now they're linear only. Lame city.

Can't help but agree with you here. I think tweeting (whether about the conference or not), surfing the web, reading/responding to email, etc. during a talk are symptomatic of the same inability to maintain focus and to think deeply when th
