IMO decentralization and competition are the only way to get the bad actors to occasionally do good.

I think one of the reasons people won't wear masks is because they're mandated. Many are worried in the short-term about the spread of COVID-19, but after we come out of it the government has more power. I think it's import

I think setting an example and keeping to your principles is the right approach. Naivety won't go away, but things will continue to improve in the long run.

I'm still for global, open markets; just not central government. Competition and differing views/ideas are extremely beneficial and this highlights an example of why.

IMO globalization is dangerous because it's putting all our eggs in one basket. We have it beyond good on the US compared to most places in the world.. And we still managed to have Trump, Hillary, and Biden be our presidential choices

Not to say that competition isn't also relevant, but I think locality is still necessary for osmosis of ideas/thoughts. I think both Marijuana and gay marriage legalization started because of a small group of like-minded people th

This is why I'm frustrated with the idea that we need to enact change and policies at the federal level. The federal government should just exist to protect our liberties and organize national defense. Everything else should be organ

I think the focus is more on a masculine (A) vs feminine (B) divide rather than sex. It's just that the majority of men lean towards more masculinity than femininity and vise versa for women. I find this aspect to be very essential t

I'm curious to know if this GPS example has any significant dependencies on prior technologies/physics that was only possible after Einstein discovered general relativity. I don't know enough physics or history to know how mu

Depends on many variables, but salaries might be able to lower as people take advantage of moving to places with lower cost of living.

I, too, am strongly hoping this will radically evolve our society to leverage more technology. I really wish the US stimulus package would instead focus on investing in re-educating the population online for those that made their living in

I've been thinking a bit about solving this same problem, but I feel there is too much overhead to log things manually. What we need is better interfacing with computers so that we can just think "log my weight is 190 lbs" or

Google glass was the best solution to this IMO. Able to look through the display and still see the road and more focus on voice control. We need advancements in integrating with computers already so that our brains can interface with them d

I strongly agree. I can't stop thinking about the potential to completely revamp our society. The business opportunities and needs are there. Whether it's automating the service worker industries, fully shifting to work from hom

Basically what @netfl0 replied: stress, adapt, recover, rinse, and repeat. Right now I follow a variation of the Texas Method, which is an intermediate program: Squat 5RM: 355 lbs Bench 5RM: 275 lbs Deadlift 5RM: 425 lbs Press 5RM

As someone who has Spondylolisthesis [1], what has worked best is weight lifting. In particular, full body movements using the barbell: deadlifts (also SLDL), squats, and overhead presses (just be extra careful here). My pain has varied.

Honestly, I think you should give some of the combinations a try. 1. Peanut butter and honey (or brown sugar) sandwiches were my favorite as a kid and nowadays I just ditch the bread 2. Peanut butter can be a substitute for tahini as a humm

Thank you for this recommendation. Joplin didn't allow me to manage the files manually, but this gives me far more control. As a bonus, it supports todo.txt, which I was already using. Paired with Dropsync, this is my find of the mon

Todo.txt [1] is not VIM-only, but text-based and simple. I use and enjoy both the Android and CLI clients, but since it's text-based and (typically) Dropbox synced, you could feel free to edit with VIM, which I do from time-to-time. [

I don't consider this a comparison given the content is one-sided and doesn't present the cases where the alternatives are better. This is a much newer project and I find it hard to believe that it is going to be as mature.

I agree with Slack's position on this. Muting or blocking a co-worker is not a long-term solution. These types of issues in a work environment need to be resolved, not ignored.
