I would need a very good bandwidth between the instances and the object storage. On AWS, we manage to get 1 GB/s for one instance. Is there one particular service that will perform particularly well? Also, I don't really want to p

Just tested it with my Quickwit engine :) Easy setup and fast deployment, pretty happy so far. I have one question though: I did not see some object storage feature, is it possible to combine Koyeb with some kind of object storage service?

Yes, just to confirm there was no off-the-shelf implementation in Rust. We know the PISA project very well because... it is the fastest engine (though academic) in the tantivy benchmark: https://tantivy-search.github.io/benc

Really nice guide to understand how to drive your OSS project, I run an OSS project and many things written in the article feels right. The positive point is that I see many users/customers that fully understands that if they want the

Nice experiment. Side note: it should be possible to tweak some config parameters to optimize the memory usage or cpu usage of quickwit. Ask us on the discord server next time :)

I'm very happy to see Montaigne on HN, there must be some affinities with the community here and I like that :) This is my favorite philosopher by far (I'm not saying that because I'm french!). Partly because his essays are n

Where do you want to store the logs? What are your contraints on the durabibility? You can use Quickwit (disclaimer: cofounder here), it ingests/indexes logs and has a very basic UI. Logs can be stored locally or on an object storage.

You guessed it :) It's not mature enough and it will require some work to migrate it as we would need to clean some Quickwit dependencies. It was just easier to add the MIT licence directly in Quickwit directory to allow anyone to copy

I don't know rustler limitations. Let me just tell you the limitations on Quickwit side: the framework is very bound to Quickwit code base right now and uses tokio runtimes to run the different kind of tasks. We put the MIT licence so

Good point. Unlike index-free solutions like Loki or Parseable, Quickwit is built on top of a modern full-text search index (tantivy). At query time, Quickwit produces much faster results (all other things being equal: CPU, memory, etc.), e

Quickwit is an open source Loki alternative too. Like said in one comment here, it works well on billions of logs on one modest instance. And Grafana integration is on the way :) https://github.com/quickwit-oss/quickwit
