Would it be possible to implement something like similar using different distributions? I am thinking of Fedora with rpm-ostree, for example.

Because you cannot just jump in your container to debug. There are ephemeral containers for Kubernetes to add an image on top of a running container, for troubleshooting, but I haven't found something like that for Docker or Podman. Yo

That seems a pretty old issue on a read-only repository. Is it still a problem today?

It does not work with recent versions of Postgres, it segfaults in some cases, and it has been mostly abandoned. Otherwise, it would be (and it has been) a great way to develop FDWs.

That's right. There is no authority principle in science, and a representative of an institution/agency of US saying that something "should be strong enough to", does not mean that the "science" said "it i

I think that we have a misunderstanding, so I am going to stress what I replied to: "the vaccines (falsely) claimed they would make me: immune" -> they weren't supposed to, they were developed based on another criteria. Th

I know that it would be better not to reply in order to avoid losing points (and time), but HN users often forget that the world is not just the US. That is not a matter of "memory holes". FDA and EMA evaluated and approved vaccin

Vaccine were never meant to make people immune; they have been approved and evaluated based on their effectiveness to reduce severe cases and deaths. We have been lucky enough that they have also been effective to reduce the spread. Even no

I am sorry to hear that; you have been unlucky indeed, as it is not like that usually. I would suggest you to submit the same patch to yt-dlp. My only PR for youtube-dl has been waiting for ~2.5 year (#21837), so I proposed the same patch t

US Organic and EU organic are two different things. In EU organic "bio", copper pesticides are allowed, and even compounds synthesized by humans in some borderline cases. Differences for wines are even more profound.

Isn't a bit problematic to run multiple processes in the same container? Docker can determine when a container is healthy or not, if it should be restarted and such; having a main process, like systemd, hiding what's happening beh
