Do not confuse nondeterministic Turing machines with nondeterministic (finite) state machines/automata. The latter are proven to be equivalent to their deterministic counterparts, the former are not.

Unfortunately this only works if the load device is compatible with the full voltage supplied. This is not the case for USB devices, for instance.

Well it's not true if you decide to ignore the fact that this does address the situations in which centering is a pain in the ass. If you exclude all the factors this takes into account, it obviously becomes trivial.

Weird, I would consider lua to be _more_ expressive than JS, thanks to its optional syntax for function calls and the metatables which allow stuff like operator overloading.

This has been done for ages in the audio production space, it's called "convolution reverb". It's quite nice, but it doesn't allow you to tune it very much, besides basic filtering and stretching/cutting.

Given the name, I expected more focus on stuff like lattices, instead it seems mostly numerical stuff. Still neat, though!

I think it could be easily attributed to the fact that most non-native speakers learn English at school by studying its grammar in written form, where the two words are distinct. Native speakers, instead, learn English as their spoken langu

I have no sources for this, but I've heard that actually 70% is the optimal concentration, and that above that the alcohol is less effective. Something to do with not having enough water content to dissolve stuff, or something.

Do it! You will find that it's very easy, but the result will either be extermely verbose or just like regex. Since most regexes (at least for me) are meant as one-time-use, the extra verboseness has no added benefit. If you have compl

Reminds me of when I started programming WinForms apps in C#, and one tutorial was about "building a web browser". Sounded super cool! Except the first step was "drag WebBrowser into the form". Yeah, that's not a ne

Incredibly similar to my story. I did not even know how to program, but the mere idea of something that took code in and spit executables out was completely magic to me. I absolutely had to know how they worked.

Not having seen the movie, I'm guessing there are scenes where Crowe needs to write some math, and it just looked more convicing by letting an actual mathematician do it for him.

This fact makes me suspicious that it might be an instance of comb filtering going on, which is often caused by the interference of a signal being summed with itself with a small delay. It is subtle and may cause the sensation described abo
