In Oslo snow and ice can lasts up to 5 months. Yet it does not prevent people from going outside as city does reasonable job in general to keep pavements walkable. Surely that can be improved, but I do not see how one can blame climate and

In Oslo, Norway I talked with few car owners that were affected by removal of parking spaces in the city. They supported it as it saved them time. They need to walk more to the parking, but they spent less time sitting in traffic jams. Ther

Yes, but another reason is that in flash only tiny amount of cells are active at time. So even with much bigger cells that are required for reliable 3D stacking and more heat production per cell it is still very ok.

Does the solution to an equation exist before one stated the equation? Does a particular phrase exist before one has written it? Does it continue to exist after all its copies were erased? And even if one answers positively to such question

One cannot define the notion of “exist” without explicitly or implicitly referring to time. So the question of existence without time reduces to absurdity like can one exist without existing?

It could be that the car alerts a driver the moment the driver needs to pay attention to the road. So presumably it could be ok to use phone, but not sleeping.

Windows supports various bio-metric logins and provides rather generic API. Some manufacturers use that to provide login based on veins in a finger, not fingerprints. Apple could have implemented those API.

The memory approaches the limit and MacOS starts to compress it which is CPU intensive. Try to limit RAM for Docker VM.

For such workflow 16gb is not enough. Docker on Mac is a VM and you need to have a lot of ram for disc caching to compensate for slow IO in VM even if 16GB looks like they could do it.

Even in Bootcamp Apple did not bother to expose all hardware to Windows . The touchpad is reported as a mouse with a scroll wheel, no option to enable hardware encryption or to use Touch ID to unlock.

BF% is hard to measure. Different manufacturers use different models to map resistivity data to BF%, so for the same person one can get rather different answers.

Intel now and 10 years ago are not that different. If not a success of TSMC with EUV process, Intel would not be in a such troubled spot. Few years ago a reasonable assumption in the industry was that EUV would not be production-ready for q

The energy cost of sea transport is like 50 less per distance traveled than on land and it has being like that for the last 3000 years. So the cost of shipment to Netherlands is just a cost of transporting to the nearest sea port from Sahar

In my experience when gluing things one needs at the very least dependent types to properly express relations. Without that the best hope is a good integration test, but with that in place static types for things that can be expressed in ma

JavaScript even in 1996 was much saner language than PHP. Surely there were bad parts, but in JS you could just ignore them. In PHP on the other hand one had to build on top of bad parts since there was no good alternatives.
