Bringing Ad Block into the core also sounds like a violation of the browser abstraction to me. A browser is supposed to show me what I give it. Specifying and implementing policies about what content is "good" or "bad" a

I believe that hardware-accelerated HTML5 version of Netflix is also used on ChromeOS (since Silverlight isn't an option). It surprises me a bit to hear that the same doesn't happen with desktop Chrome.

Out of curiosity, what about the Dell Precision M3800 (starting at 4.15 lbs)? At first glance, the specs look pretty comparable to the current Retina MacBook Pro.

In 2001, Sony had all the leverage. The Microsoft antitrust case was still open. The DoJ and Microsoft proposed a settlement in Nov 2001 which wasn't accepted by the judge until Nov 2002. The last thing Microsoft needed was a brand-new

Oh, that's another cool feature! Thanks for mentioning it. I can quibble that I wish it were a bit more obvious and that the Android icon appeared before the page started loading (next to the X), but it is still going to make many thin

Firefox is both better and worse than other browsers in dealing with intents. On the worse side, unlike some other browsers Firefox doesn't raise intents for redirected URLs, missing some opportunities to match appropriate apps. I beli

The Big Five publishers should be long past "Does DRM buy us anything useful?" and should be thinking about "Is DRM hurting our interests?" The effect of DRM on piracy is negligible at best and could be actively promotin

Indeed. After the Ethernet port, Amazon Instant Video and Slingplayer are the two use cases that make Google TV better than Chromecast for me (and there's always CheapCast, I suppose).

I believe you're missing ac29's point. Android allows applications to distinguish between cached data and "regular/permanent" data. It also allows users to clear them separately. Logically, the Apple ID / phone
