The youtube algorithm and setup is really messed up, but it reminds me of the google algorithm for search. This video shows that crap uploads and clickbait rule youtube. I was actually fooled by these content creators and they used it as an

I think if I was doing operations for a company using a static site I would end up with something similar. I suppose my original perspective was coming from a one-person operation.

Jekyll is way more simple from a "stack" perspective. It has no database, has less moving parts. Wordpress is simple from an end user perspective. Services like medium and tumblr hide the complexity from its users. Its a trade off

This solution is sort of weird to me. To me, the allure of a static site or a static blog is to simplify the stack; To bring it back to the basics. Static HTML served by a good ole-fashion web server. Adding the cognitive burden of "se

I feel the same about cars as I do about drones in that they are very dangerous. The car industry had a history of blaming the victim as a "jay-walker" and even lobbying for laws against them. In another universe we have a name fo

I'm still running google analytics but I don't look at it anymore, the spam is unbearable and I don't have time to figure out how to create filters. Its not my problem to figure out either. I'm really excited for Mirro

Yeah, the heating pads or seed starting is a great idea. I bought a bunch of 72 watt incandescent bulbs for when the seedlings sprout. I've been using one at my desk to keep my body / hands warm. Beats heating the whole room when

Every time I see a gardening with tech post I get mildly irritated now that I have been actually gardening for 5 years. I'm of the opinion that we need less tech and more systems with integrated design to take the human labor out of g

I was just thinking about WASTE recently in the last 2 weeks since Trump took office. WASTE was written in Java and was sort of tricky to setup / understand. At one point about 10 years ago, I had a small 8 person "dark net"

On the server side you could make predictions. However client A would not be able to see client B's keystrokes. Its sort of like using Javascript to submit an HTML input field on every key press (AJAX).

They don't appear to loose their flavor. I use them as ingredients in beans, chili, and sauce. I'm going to freeze way more next year, it turned out amazing. Sure beats loosing 40 of them to spoilage from a glut harvest! : )

A heirloom has nothing to do with it, that just means its seeds create fruit true to the parent fruit. I have taken some really tasty hybrids and grew them back down into a heirloom of sorts. I've started to grow tomatoes 5 years ago.
