Yep. The LG 5Ks are the same way too. Moreover, if you have an Intel MacBook Pro you have to use ports on opposite sides of the laptop if you have 2 displays. You can’t plug them in on the same side.

If you read the very fine print on those graphs, they compared with an i9-12900K and an RTX 3090. "Relative performance" is extremely questionable though I agree. I guess I'll wait for the Anandtech review to get graphs with

I switched to this view a few days ago and it’s infinitely better. Originally when Twitter rolled out the toggle I figured I’d give the algorithmic feed a chance but eventually it got to the point where 80% of my feed was algorithmically re

   I think your math is off a bit. TB3/4 carries 40Gbps and 5k@120 is 53Gbps (5120 * 2880 * 120hz * 30bits/pixel). But your point still stands :)

TB4 has the same bandwidth as TB3 so you wouldn't be able to daisy chain 5k monitors anyway. Also as the other commentator mentioned, TB doesn't have enough bandwidth for 120hz (53Gbps vs 40Gbps)

MLB has mlb.tv which as you noted was started out of MLB Advanced Media (which iirc got sold to Disney). But TV contracts are extremely lucrative for them and fanbases have attachments to their local announcer crew who are employed by the T

Apple sells the LG Ultrafine 5k which is 27". It's not Apple made but iirc they worked with LG to design it. I really like mine, the high dpi is fantastic. I have a 27" 1440p next to it that is pretty much relegated to being

In college most profs were aware of this and explicitly stated that malformed files would be graded either as a 0 or under whatever late policy they had.

I am admittedly not a virology expert but my understanding is TCID50 signifies the concentration at which 50% of the cells are infected when the sample is inoculated with a diluted solution of viral fluid. Ripped straight from https:/

If you look at the actual testing data for antigen tests [0], the LoD for them is very high compared with PCR. This means a person needs a high viral load for tests to be effective. For example, the BinaxNOW kits require 140.6 TCID50/m

Ordering is super easy. I'm glad they're using USPS's existing infrastructure so we don't get a healthcare.gov 2.0. We'll see how actual shipping goes.

The nice thing about Davis is it’s still large enough to have suburbs that are primarily families so you don’t end up with drunk kids on your lawn or parties every week :)

Off-topic but I love Davis. It has a smaller-town vibe but is close enough to Downtown Sac that one can go over there for a night out. The local politics are more to my lean than anywhere equidistantly east of Sacramento. It's extremel

Crying is a form of emotional release, similar to how someone might take up boxing or scream into a pillow. I didn’t read the book specifically looking to cry though. That was just an effect of the content.

    I wish I could daisy chain too but unfortunately it’s a limitation of Thunderbolt only supporting 40Gbps. Daisy chaining two LG 5Ks would be 5120 * 2880 * 60hz * 30 bits/pixel * 2 = 53Gbps (if my math is correct)

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I spent a lot of the year in isolation, only seeing a few people and this book felt like an appropriate analogy. It was also very heartwarming when I really needed something to lift me up.
