Agreed. But the internet is already fragmented. Each countries have their own laws and other countries no reason to follow them. All kind of content is accessible only in certain countries. It's also true for physical goods. I'm n

NodeJS API are traditionally not promised based (although nowadays some do offer a promisified option), so I'm not especially excited to have a promise-based API :) It's a great news for people doing both front end and backend I g

Fetch is a web JS API to do HTTP requests. NodeJS has its own API to do HTTP requests. This add supports for the fetch API. I think the only benefit it that it makes it easier to share code between front end and back end.

Admittedly I haven't tried Windows and MacOS a lot, but I still don't understand why people insist on using MacOS for doing Linux development. I think it must be pretty rare to have devs doing MacOS development not using MacOS or

Answering to myself, a colleague suggestion (from tsc doc actually): use tsc --noEmit (for type checking) and a fast compiler. tsc --noEmit duration is 2/3 of a normal build on our fairly large code base, so that can definitely speeds

I'm answering to you but this is really for most siblings: I maintain a fairly large TS code base (nodejs backend). I think a full rebuild is 1:30 on my relatively recent laptop (i7-8650U, lots of RAM). But in practice I always use tsc

go means it's going to be easier to integrate to esbuild :) I'm happy to see this, as honestly I don't really understand why you would compile TS without type checking.

I still think using "container" lose the fact that it's just a process with some tweaks :) I'm not saying "marketing" as to say it was coined by non technical people, but rather that it's a way to "se

Can't a container mostly be a Go process? "Marketing" as you said, made this concept of "container", but I think using the words "process" and "namespaces" is still ok.

I think the author is analyzing Gemini from a technical / engineering perspective, and of course, it doesn't make any sense. I think Gemini lack of compatibility with the Web is its main feature, and I think people using Gemini wa

Yes absolutely, in practice the limit seems to be on the document size rather than on keys specifically. That said it still sets a limit on the key size (to something a bit less that the max full size), and some JSON documents valid for a g

I assume JSON implementations have a some limit on the key size (or on the whole document which limits the key size), hopefully far below the available memory.

To be fair, any JSON implentation is going to have a practical limit on the key size, it's just a bit more random and harder to figure out :)
