I'm not really sure for how long we will have multiple implementations. And we won't have for sure any new implementation, we are stuck with the 3 we have and can only hope the 2 non chrome ones will survive.

crypto.randomUUID should generate UUIDv4 with a cryptographically secure RNG (ie not math.random) Collision of UUIDV4 (which are 122 bits of entropy) are unlikely enough that it should fit most definitions of the word "impossible"

I think it could make sense: scientists are probably able to compute a total quantity of CO2 that we can emit worldwide to achieve some climatic goals (like not being f* too badly too quickly). Then divide this total by number of inhabitant

I think you can put a cap by taxing: tax fuel 100 billion dollars per litre, then offer a tax break for the x first litres :)

With that said, I'd rather be poor in France than in the US. At least there is a good public health care system and you can go to school& university for free.

You can apt install magic-wormhole on Debian. I'm not aware of any other major OS ;)

Here is the answer from the project website "magic-wormhole has most everything (currently its missing capabilities for multiple file transfers and file resuming), but it requires installing lots of the Python ecosystem which is tricky

It's weird croc doesn't mention magic wormhole in their readme, if only to explain the differences with this well known tool, and why one would use croc rather than wormhole, which people are probably more used to using and that t

We put limits high enough that it's far enough for any expected usage, including a bunch of users on a single IP. If we see rate limiting happening in practice and it doesn't seem to be an attack, we revisit.

I have a reason: we do per IP rate limiting. It's easy enough for IPv4 when the number of IPs is necessarily not too big to fit in a small redis for example, but for IPv6 everyone have at least a /64. I'm curious how people d

It's not because someone can say whether I'm at home or not by looking at the lights that putting a plate in front of my home saying whether I'm here or not is a good idea ^^ (sorry for the poor metaphor;) )
