There aren't enough ICU beds or nurses to go around by several orders of magnitude, so 3D printing isn't a panacea to anything. It doesn't matter if there were an unlimited supply of FDA-approved ventilators and ECMOs, there

"Denied?" There aren't enough ICU beds or staff to worry about using a Home Depot shop vac as a ventilator yet. A million more beds are needed in US but they won't be built because the ACoE doesn't have a mandate, m

Poe's law entered the chat I'm not worried about a hypothetical, I'm worried more about the lack of a sense of humor. I just hope stress kills more humorless people who take everything way too literally.

So what about the lawsuits when you throw informed consent out the window to try unproven, unfit products on patients and they die because of failed products that weren't FDA cleared or approved? How many good doctors and hospitals hav

Apples and oranges. Ventilators aren't ships. Medical-grade ventilators for ICUs have all sorts of life-safety sensors, engineering and testing that went into them that cannot be rushed.

Ventilators aren't just cobbling together random parts from a Home Depot shop vac in wishful thoughts and prayers that lifesaving devices can be made miraculously usable in weeks. This ain't the movies.

Ventilators on AliBaba aren't necessarily suitable for keeping human beings alive. It would be better to source them from FDA-approved manufacturers' stocks before wasting lives on untested, untried crap that might not even be rea

Upper tolerable dosage isn't as simple as one number for everyone. How much someone can take depends on how long someone takes it, their relative health and their mass dosage (mg/kg). I could take 2g c.i. (6g/day) for weeks (

End all meat agriculture and urban sprawl globally, and the risks of developing novel pandemics would fall precipitously. They are the major sources and they are entirely deliberately chosen.

Increasing retail prices doesn't do any good, especially normal people who need one package of TP, limiting quantities does. That's a fairer way to solve it than treat TP like some damn Bitcoin.

It's a given that American hospitals will be running out of ventilators, beds, and nurses will be stretched too thin. And if you need an ECMO and/or organ transplant in the near future, good luck with that.
