I expected a fluff article by a high level JavaScript programmer buying into all the optimistic promises of WebAssembly. Instead, this is actually one of the best articles I've read about WebAssembly. The author approaches it from a C&

It reminds me of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It had lot of rules dictated by Disney and Warner Bros. For example, Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse had to have the same number of lines and same amount of screen time.

It would be fascinating to see what is required to actually make this work. Sadly, the red tape alone seems like it would be enough to kill it before meeting the deadline. - Getting the permits to sell food (in Chicago of all places) - Gett

Game devs tired of C++ are waiting for Jonathan Blow's new language :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH9VCN6UkyQ He states D isn't different enough to encourage most devs to go through the pain of switching. If

The question on my mind (and probably everybody else's) is Facebook backing away from D? Seems like if they were stepping up D, they would want to keep him on board to help improve it. And backing away from D might have encouraged him

An additional problem is that in a downturn, people reassess what they are willing to spend money on. Overvalued companies with revenues today may see those revenues evaporate. This also happened in the first dotcom crash.

Maybe a little surprising due to track records, but since Xbox One (and PlayStation 4 and Wii U) are AMD based, DirectX 12 not performing well on AMD would be an utter failure for Microsoft.

Great point about this example being a code-size trade-off example and not an actual zero-cost example. As for actual zero-cost optimization, Chandler Carruth who works on Clang at Google gave a talk at the 2012 LLVM Developers' Meetin
