There is big difference in GGC edges and CDN they "announced" 800+ vs 30. Most likely they will keep the GGC cache just for google services like Youtube and wont offer it through their public CDN. (The 800+ is just estimate based

its definitely trust issue but we do have system in place which would tell us if files are different. In your case just 1 VPS instance would not help though.. we would need at least 20-30TB to make it worthwhile

We have used couple of CDNs including KeyCDN. I cannot comment on performance as we have not done any tests yet but the team is very responsive and helpful. They have good UI and set of tools available for their customers.

I dont understand how is it possible that browser would allow crossdomain request from attacker website to victim website? Unless victim has some CORS headers allowing all sites to query it?

I agree but one would expect that AV vendors have enough opportunities to make money without sacrificing their users and their reputation. Look at how many products AVG has. I think they should do just fine by converting free users to paid

I read some sources that Pi is not that fast to route traffic through it. However, maybe at least setting up DNS server on Pi would get some "live" stats without sacrificing performance ?

do you think your script would work if you just changed it from sync to async? I know some services do not provide async versions and converting from sync to async manually is not recommended.
