Pine really fucked up with the PPP. That, and a few other issues around that time really soured me on Pine as a company.

Don't go in person. That just wastes everyone's time as corporate will never hear about it. Instead, call them. Insist to talk to a human. Corporate really doesn't like call center calls, and they usually have monitoring se

Yeah, and currently the hivemind-approved response to people complaining about apps not working in either GrapheneOS or Linux phones is to "just use the browser. Your bank has a website, right?" Well, I fear that loophole is quick

I think politicians across the board are completely out of touch with the average US citizen. Some more than others, but in general they're from old money, Harvard educated, go golfing with CEOs, etc. It's always been this way, ri

I doubt that anybody who is "not that technical" is going to install an AUR package on their steam deck.

I've looked at gram, but unfortunately it, being a fork of zed, still has some dependencies I'd rather not deal with. Given the recent hacks (especially those a few weeks ago with lots of compromised AUR packages in Arch) I'd

I may check this out as I'm between editors currently. Liked zed for a bit, until a blog post showed me how they were installing npm and who knows what else on my PC without me knowing. Used Code for a bit after until suddenly they sta

The internet's (at least as we knew it) days were numbered as soon as the dot com bubble happened. It changed from a thing to share info to a thing to make money. It's irrecoverably corrupted and this blatant overreach for everyon

What I would like is a setting kind of like the already-existing safety feature on pixel phones. You set a timer and if you fail to end the timer or respond when it goes off, it calls 911. Instead, I would set a timer before going through c

We also know fast food, alcohol, etc., are bad for you and yet most people do these things. I wouldn't bet on LLM usage going down due to it anytime soon.

I don't think so. If you self-host, you're on your own island and anything you write isn't seen unless you attract people to your domain. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Maybe. But as a parent, sometimes you have to make sacrifices (or force them to make sacrifices) as otherwise they won't have space grow.

We used to just do things because it was the right thing to do, or out of pride for what we were making, or sometimes just to be better than the other guy. That everything has to be about profit is a lot of what's wrong these days. And

Fair enough. I do worry what that will mean for projects such as Linux though. Not that I think it will die or anything, but rather that it will become so fragmented that forward movement ceases.

You're being pendantic. Choose whatever symbol you want for "2" and "4". The point is that if you have symbol apples and someone gives you symbol more, than you have an agreed-upon number in total.
