This is a nice analysis, but the data in the article actually disproves it, at least to the degree show in the last plot (quite reliably in my opinion). The distribution of the waiting time is exponential, is a Poisson process, which means

There are different kinds of randomness. The exponential distribution of the waiting time is a nice, mathematically pleasing result. Although not a very nice one to the commuter.

The fact that H1B spouses cannot be legally employed is just stupid. The US needs to get its immigration together. Fix the law, decrease or increase the cap, stop the H1B program - but please be reasonable. Quality immigrants are more likel

The number you propose - the number of charge stations divided by about 15 is indeed important - but only if one also takes into consideration the fraction of cars that are electric, versus those that use gasoline/diesel. To give an ex

Well I suppose there is a way to disprove this: create an electron-positron pair, then annihilate the pair. This way we would get a closed loop, which would obviously not be a part of a giant knot spanning through the universe.

You need to produce wealth before you consume wealth, at least on the scale of a country. Only after there is enough wealth available (in form of schools, hospitals, infrastructure, social security system, businesses, know-how, reliable sup

That is right, and what is the alternative? Suppose China had never opened their borders to foreign investments. What would these people do? I think I know the answer, just look at the following life expectancy graph: http://www.

I really don't understand this problem. Why does everybody think people in Asia are forced to do this kind of work? These people would be incredibly poor if not for western companies. Actually most of them would die being children as a

I actually envy you guys. I come from an European Christian family, and it was only my father that occasionally engaged in discussions regarding wealth, earnings, business. It was not a popular thing to do where I grew up. Although I firmly
