I've used Apollo when I was on iOS. It's indeed great. But holy hell, you must have spent exactly 0 time with Android clients, or just don't enjoy Android apps in general, cause I'd easily put Sync and Boost on equal foo

On iOS Apollo and Narwhal were both good options last I tried them. Android has a lot more going on. All of Infinity, Joey, Sync (my choice), RiF, Boost and Now are pretty solid. Pretty reductive indeed to say Apollo is the only serious con

All great advice to make the best of a shitty situation. My comment was more about how tired I'm getting of that same age old "it's better for everyone this way!i!" BS line that doesn't help anyone. The situation is

Again, you're assuming quite a whole lot, and ignoring just as much. The 150k people I mentioned were laid off just this year all were obviously not all high compensation/high severance package people[0]. > 1 in 3 laid-off work

I used iTerm on a 2011 iMac with 6GB of mismatched RAM until 2018 at work, and a crappy 2012 MBP with 4GB RAM (subsequently upgraded to 8GB) from 2012-2016 without issue. This is not normal at all lol

Kind of missing the forest for the trees here. But okay, let's play that game. The 21k employees they laid off were _all_ high comp workers, really? The 150k employees that got laid off since the beginning of the year, just in tech? Th

Completely obliviating the "human" part of what an employee is, reducing it down to a mere number on a balance sheet, will never sit right with me. In the end, what those companies are ultimately taking a risk on is people's

I know it's not fundamentally that different from the running arbitrary code we have right now, but something about the idea of indiscriminately running binaries invisibly downloaded over the WWW rubs me the wrong way. Edit: read the f

The perverse side-effect is that smaller towns are getting expensive as hell too as more and more people don't care about staying in the city. Things raised ~30% in the last 5 years in my area, in a medium-sized agricultural town some

Is iTerm2 GPU accelerated? Wasn't aware it could do that kind of thing. I didn't use it in years, admittedly, haven't had a Mac for a while.

Whenever I look at the frontend QA loop vs. the backend at the places I've worked at, I'm glad I work in machine readable, typed, easier to test API land.

Yeah, I kind of figured that out as you responded - see my other comment hehe. For what it's worth, Merriam Webster seems to agree that the distinction is basically arbitrary, and OED has the more general definition first lol
